How it all started...
The story of South Lakes Church begins in August 2015 as a group of 30 adults gathered at the Earlywine YMCA with a goal of reaching people for Christ in southwest Oklahoma City. Through much prayer and honest conversations, the DNA of the church's was built over the course of the fall of 2015.
During all of this, construction began on a permanent church building that would be comprised of 6 kid's classrooms and a worship room. Almost a year to the day of meeting in the YMCA , the church moved into its current location in August of 2016.

Expanding the vision...
Through the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the willingness of people to roll up their sleeves and get to work, the church began growing at an incredible rate. Not only was the Lord's blessing seen in SW OKC, but the church saw the Spirit working in various church plants that they partnered with in Kansas City and Nicaragua.
After 4 years of meeting in the building, construction began on a new children's wing to better reach families for Christ. In May of 2021, the SL Kids Children's wing had its grand opening and with it the launch of new ministry opportunities.

Where we are headed...
The goal of South Lakes Church moving forward is to always keep our eyes focused on expanding the Kingdom of God and never becoming complacent with where we are as a church. With our eyes firmly fixed on bringing God glory by reaching families in SW OKC and beyond with the good news of Jesus, the future is definitely a bright one at South Lakes Church.
